Wood that remembers. Joinery that endures.

Jekoya is built around one belief: furniture should outlast the room it was made for. That demands solid wood frames, traditional joinery, and the patience to take a week longer than the factory next door. Here is how we work.

Chapter III — Customisation

Four materials, chosen with care.

We work with a deliberately short list. Each material is the best version of what it can be — and each one has a story we're happy to tell.

I.

Burma Teak

Sourced ethically from licensed plantations. Teak's natural oils make it dimensionally stable across Indian seasons — no cracking in dry Delhi winters, no swelling in Mumbai monsoons. Kiln-dried to 8–10% moisture before it enters our workshop.

II.

Italian Leather

Full-grain hides from Tuscany — the top layer of the cowhide, never split, never corrected. Tanned with vegetable methods, finished by hand. Develops a deeper patina over years; the leather looks better at ten years than at one.

III.

Brass from Moradabad

Hand-finished in the historic brass quarter of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. Solid brass — never plated. We use it for handles, hinges, inlay strips, and accent feet. It ages to a soft pewter tone over decades; we can also lacquer-seal it to stay bright.

IV.

European Foam Core

High-density polyurethane, European specification, 10-year retention rating. We layer it with cotton batting and optional feather wrap for the seat tops. The foam doesn't collapse after two years like cheap import-grade — it stays supportive for a decade or more.

Chapter IV — The Process

Four steps, roughly six weeks.

Every Jekoya piece passes through the same workflow. Slower than factory furniture; faster than antique restoration.

I.
Brief

WhatsApp, video call, or showroom. We discuss the piece, the room, the materials. Send photos and dimensions. Usually one conversation.

II.
Design

Detailed quote with sketches or 3D renders for custom work. Material samples couriered. Sign-off before workshop begins.

III.
Workshop

Three to five weeks. Frame, joinery, sanding, finishing, upholstery. One team owns each piece start to finish — no assembly-line shortcuts.

IV.
Delivery

White-glove delivery in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune. Other cities by project arrangement. Installation and care guide included.

Chapter V — Questions

Questions, answered.

In our workshop in India. Wood is sourced regionally and ethically. Brass is finished in Moradabad. Leather is imported from Tuscany. Upholstery and final assembly happen under one roof.

A workshop. We don't run an assembly line — each piece is built by a small team start to finish. This is why our lead times are 4–8 weeks rather than overnight, and why our pieces last decades rather than years.

Three things: solid wood (never MDF, never veneer over particle board), traditional joinery (mortise-and-tenon, dovetail — not staples or screws), and a made-to-order model that means no warehouse waste and no compromise on dimensions.

Burma teak from certified plantations, not old-growth forests. Reclaimed teak available for clients who prefer it. Leather is a by-product of food industry. Brass is recyclable. We avoid synthetics where natural alternatives exist.

Ten years on structural wood frames. Five years on springs, foam, and joinery. Two years on upholstery workmanship. All under normal residential use. We stand behind what we build.
