Chapter III — Customisation

Tables, scaled to the room.

A coffee table that's two inches too short feels wrong. A console two inches too long blocks the hallway. We build to the measurement, not the catalogue.

Form

Coffee tables: round, rectangular, oval, nested pairs, plinth-style. Side tables: pedestal, drum, c-shape, gueridon. Consoles: hall, behind-sofa, demi-lune, mirror-topped.

Material

Solid teak, reclaimed teak with character, walnut, sheesham. Tops in stone (marble, travertine, granite) on wood base. Brass inlay, leather wrapping, lacquer.

III.

Detail

Hand-turned columns, fluted bases, brass-tipped feet, hidden drawers, sliding tops. Every detail considered — nothing is decorative without function.

Chapter IV — The Process

Smaller piece, same craft.

Tables are often where a Jekoya commission starts. Three to five weeks from order. Same workshop, same hands, same standards.

Send a photo of your sofa and a sketch of the room. We'll propose dimensions and form that complement the existing furniture.

Material Choice

Sample wood pieces couriered if requested. Stone tops sourced from quarries in Rajasthan and shown via photo before commitment.

III.

Workshop

Two to three weeks for a coffee table; a week longer for stone-topped or brass-inlaid pieces.

IV.

Delivery

Smaller and easier to transport — typically one-person assembly on delivery. Often the fastest piece we deliver.

Can you build a coffee table to match my existing sofa? +

Yes — share photos of the sofa and the room. We'll propose proportions and finishes that work with the existing piece rather than fighting it.

Do you use real marble or engineered stone? +

Real natural stone — sourced from Indian quarries (Makrana white, Jaisalmer yellow, Forest green) or Italian imports (Calacatta, Carrara, Statuario) by request. No engineered or quartz on Jekoya tables.

What about brass — is it solid or plated? +

Solid brass for hardware, inlay, and accents. Hand-finished in Moradabad, the centre of Indian brass craft. It will develop a patina over years; we can recommend care to keep it bright or let it age.

Can I order a nest of tables that match? +

Yes — nests, pairs, and sets are common. Built from one wood batch for tonal consistency.
